[modern] Freezing cat

Hello,list!
Today morning i was shocked! Aargh -20 degr.celsius and cat was
refused to start first attempt! Fortunately it started in second!Every
thing was sooooo stiff! After 3 minute warm up and then 5 minutes
driving it was getting better and better.I did not remember how stiff
everything can get.Especially battery was quite “breathless” sounding. I
hope that my battery will not go dead!I really hate this wheather!
Rgds:Jukka from Finland with -20 deg of celsius and wind is blowing
so it feels like -30!
XJ40 Sovereign 3.6 -89 MANX 147200km
PS:Which kind of winter wheather do you have?Soon i get away from
Finland for a 6 weeks.I will go to UK,Woodford near Manchester!

Jukka,
Today we have some snow here in the south of Holland.
Last 2 weeks the temperatures have been between +2 and + 8 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow rain is forecasted

Well here in NZ it is 27degrees Celsius today and quite humid. Took the XJ-S
out for a cruise this morning with the windows down and the sunroof open,
very nice too! Regards John

Aloha Jukka!

Being from Norway I know what you mean about freezing temperatures! Should
I even mention the temperature here in Hawaii where I live now??? Oh why
not - with the tradewind blowing it’s about 76 degrees Fahrenheit; that is
about +25 Celsius

Well here in Chicago, for the last two nights, the temp has been bobbing
around 0F, -17C (I think that’s right) but the XJ12 sits in the garage which
is maintained at 50F. I also keep my wife’s Expedition (I refer to it as
“The Ominous Road Beast”) in there too. Unfortunately my motorcycle is
toward the front of the garage covered for the winter.

The Jag takes me from the house to the office, where it gets valet parked in
an indoor garage while I work. We then go home and the Jag gets to sleep in
the heated garage once again.

I really can’t wait for summer, tired of the cold!

It’s nice your car is kept warm but I’ve always heard and subscribed to the
idea that corrosion is directly related to temperature. Therefore, when I
get salt on my vehicles, they stay out in the cold until I can wash them.
