Having done services and replacements on my XJ12, I can imagine how easily
labour costs could rack up. Some examples: replacing the power steering
fluid filter at 72,000km (a couple of hours at least); replacing front
sub-frame mounts (several hours); draining and re-filling the coolant (it
takes along time to top up); changing brake fluid; changing lower wishbone
bushes etc.
$10k seems quite a lot, however, so Mark was probably a bit unlucky with all
the things that went wrong with his car.
