[modern] Re: Best Model

Allan,
The sun roof takes about an inch and a half away from head room.
If you are 6 foot tall, the sun roof models will have your hair in
the roof.
I have driven the models with the sun roof, and it bugs me to have
my head in the roof.
My wife has a taurus with a sun roof, and my head is in that also.

I don’t need power washers for my headlights.
I don’t drive on dirt roads, or let the car get very dirty.
I don’t want washer liquid spraying all over my nice wax job, and almost
never use the windshield washers, as it messes the car.
I have a small bottle of glass cleaner in the trunk, along with a roll
of paper towels if the windows get dirty.
Thats just my personal preference…as I said in my original post.

I KNOW I don’t want the hydraulic suspension.
I don’t like the look of the Euro style headlights(they are supposed
to work better) but even Jaguar dropped them on the new cars.
All the U.S. cars have air conditioning…
I have no use for picnic tables personally.

I can only go by the examples I have seen, but the all leather cars
seem to warp their pieces.

Its fine with me if anyone wants the extras, but I did not, and
would have had to pay to remove the entire self leveling system from
my car.

My car is already loaded with extras…
Power windows
power door locks
automatic climate control
6 speaker audio system
real wood interior
leather seats
225hp dohc engine
4 speed overdrive electronic transmission
double wishbone suspension
independent rear suspension with rear wheel drive
reading lights
rear climate control vents
heated power mirrors
power seats
A REAL nice burl shift knob
Leather wrapped steering wheel
alloy wheels
V rated tires
power antenna
locking gas door
lights under the hood
intermittent wiper
A big leaper on the hood!
Remote entry(well, not very remote)

Ok, what did I forget?

Brett, I cannot believe what you have just posted, ok each to their own, but
if you go for any type of car you go for the highest spec you can afford. In
the Jag 40 class that must be the top of the range. The leather is kept in
good condition , as has been proved by the postings. and can be kept as good
as new. I dont understand how the sunroof takes up room!!! Whats wrong with the extra trimmings power washers, picnic trays Air Conditioning etc. I can only think that you have seen some bad examples of Sovereigns and VDPs. Or
the green eyed monster is appearing. What do other listers think.

Brett, My problem is I am only a mere 510" , with a full head of hair, so I have no hassle with the sun roof. I can understand though getting out of the cat with one or two hairs out of place, so undignified. But from what it appears you dont really drive her , do you? I have all the items
mentioned as well Including the wooden gear shift(I agree about the
Suspension) how about the reading lights in the rear of the front seats, the
reading lights at the back of the rear passenger seats, oh and the decal
that says “Sovereign” I use her as a daily driver and in the UK the power
washers are a great help, saves getting out to clean them when driving the
Motorways at night. My advice to any one considering a Jaguar is to get the
highest spec available but if money is a problem well get what you can
afford. (The guides over here deduct 15% for not having leather or Air Con)
