Mike,
I don’t really bash rich people…I look at it like it was a disease.
The more money you have, the more you want…the more you have,
the more you have to watch out for someone trying to
take it from you.
This makes you suspicious…and worried. Maybe put up a big fence around
your place. Get enough, and friends and relatives will try to get it
from you…your children will grow up to be rotten, as they never learned
the value of hard work, and pride of ownership that comes with a lot
of hard work spent to get something nice.
Most stuff becomes disposable, bad habits are set at an early age.

Are some people who come to mind…
History and the news have many stories of these results.
To craft something with your own dirty hands, or to work to get something
nice, and keep it that way, is a very rare thing to see among really
rich people.
If I were to win the lottery and get millions, I would give it away
as fast as possible, after paying off the house, and setting up a collage
fund for my son, so that nobody would be coming around trying to kill
me for it.
I contrast the person who restores an old E type, with one who buys
a new xk8…one is just bought and paid for, while the other is the
result of maybe years of hard work, and loving craftsmanship.
I can tell you what car is more valued by its owner…the xk8 is insured,
the xke could never really be…
One man knows every nut and bolt on his car, the other may not know
where the oil fill is…
(an xk8 is a wonderful car though!)
Power and money corrupt…fortunately, I have almost none of either!

Are you sure the Modern list is really for you? There is a special list for
XJS people as well as one for the V-12 engine. Most of the people on this
list drive an XJ40, X300, XJR, etc.

Whoa there! I am absolutely confident that the intent was to make sure you
knew about the other lists, not to make you feel out of place. The
Lokensgards are nice folks, honest!

Mike, as far as I know you are entitled to be on the modern list as well as the
XJ-S list. So Mr./Mrs. Lokengard please give a little slack here (look at the
main menue on subscription). Thank you for you time. Sincerely, Andrew Ambrose

Being a previous owner of a XJ40 and just a Jag lover in general I enjoy the
list.
Let me know if I am in the wrong forum to express that, please?
