[modern] Re: Wiper Motor Microswitch

Phil:

I replaced the A/C blower control microswitch with a unit from Radio Shack,
and as best I know from looking at the wiper microswitch at the same time,
it
is the same switch–I can’t remember if it has a roller or lever, or just
the
little nub that gets pressed directly. You can get either a plain switch or
a
roller switch. The roller is easy to remove if you don’t need it. The switch
should be wired so it is normally open, closing the circuit when the nub is
pressed.

The Radio Shack part is 275-017A for the Roller Lever Switch, which is a
SPDT
submini switch with contacts rated 5A @ 125/250VAC, and the cost is about
$2.
If the clerk you talked to there doesn’t know his stock any better than
that,
call the store & ask for the manager, and get him to set it aside before you
go in.

Hope this helps,

I’m looking for a source for the wiper motor’s microswitch. I tried my local
radioshack, but the sales agent was overwhelmed by my request and gave
me a catalog. I couldn’t find any similar microswitch listings in the
catalog.
