Thomas,

Can anyone tell me where the ride level sensors are located on a -88 XJ40?

They’re mounted inside the rear fender wells on the body of the car.
They’re
small rectangular boxes about the size of a cigarette pack, and they have a
thin rod that connects to the rear suspension. Cars that don’t have these
have either been converted to non-self-leveling-suspension or may have never
had SLS in the first place.

Hi Thomas,
Take the rear right tire off and it is just behind the Spring. It is approx
4" X 3" X 1" and has a rod and an electrical connector attached to it.It is
bolted to the frame. If you need one you can have the one that is on my 1989
VDP.I have converted to non SLS shocks and just did not remove the sensor.
