Hi all,
I’ve seen the word “rotor” used in a number of posts (Brett’s particularly).
Is this what we would call the “disc plate” in the UK? or is it a
Jaguar-specific term?
Monica’s going like a dream at the moment. I went on a longish run yesterday
(Nice to Marseilles and back) without incident, bringing my mileage up to
about 1500 in 3 1/2 weeks. Average speed from Marseilles to Nice was about
84.5 mph (sch) and average consumption 19.3 mpBg (B=British).
Happy motoring,

Subject: Re: [modern] Squeling breaks
I have this problem as well, but mine was the result of improper storage
for 2 years by previous owner, which resulted in rusted rotors.
The mechanic suggested trying to resurface the pads and rotors, and also
service the calipers to see if everything can be saved w/o replacement…
It worked for the front ones, but the rears started squealing away in a
week once they warmed up.
The rear rotors are still within spec… can I get away with just
replacing the pads, or should I be doing both rotor/pad at the same time?
Thanks
Ben

Hi All!
My breaks seems to squeal a bit just before coming to stop.
It is not loud but it is there.
I thought it was some dust or something and that it would go away, it
has been there for some weeks now.I have not any indication on low brake pads or anything.
Any idea ?
Best regards,
Daniel
