[modern] wheels

Hi,

Let me know if you want me to send you a couple of wheels to do your
evaluation as I received them today.

I was just kind of thinking that it might help to isolate the problem

Hello All, I recall that someone had inquired about the possibility of
polishing our alloy wheels, I must have missed the responses. I had the same
idea but do not know what the alloy is. In the past I have polished aluminum
parts including an MG wind screen frame and have been pleased with the
results. but not knowing for sure what i’m working with I can’t be sure of
the results. Thought maybe some had been there done that. I have already
looked into the equipment I would need (have most already) mot much of an
outlay. Would like to hear from any who may have done this or has some
knowledge of the alloy, thanks. Considering that 88 & 99 were bad years for
Jaguar, my 88 sure runs good.

Dwight,
Are you talking about XJ40 wheels?? If so they’re painted and clear
coated…there’s an outfit around here in So Cal that will Chrome a set
of Jaguar wheels for $350 + core…and they ship too (price as of last
year, it may be more now)
I can get their # for you if you like…

Cheers, Peter. CA

Does anybody know the pitch centre diameter (distance between the hole
centres) and the offset for the wheels on a 88 XJ 40 as I am on the look out
for a set of after market alloys.
Thanks Dave
