I haven’t advanced from where I was here on the a/c front: recent work has been focused on the interior. If you do decide to try a 2-belt arrangement, you might want to consider isolating the compressor on one belt and everything else on another. That way, if the compressor belt breaks, you’ve only lost a/c. If you have the alternator driven by the same belt as the compressor, then if either belt breaks you’re stuck.
