Need 3.07 Gears

I’m looking for a set of 3.07 gears for my 67 E Type. I believe it is Dana 22 106-5x. Everyone I contact says “back ordered with no real estimate of availability”
Thanks

I think you can get 3.058 gears pretty readily, and that is certainly close enough.

I’m not 100% sure of the spline availability in the yoke that you need, but as far as I know, the gear sets were pretty common across all of the Dana 44 differentials, which is what E types came with.

I do need one as well, if you should receive more offers than you need , please let me know I would like to have one. thanks…

If I say that the rear axle is a Dana 44, the comment would be met with an indignant defense of Salisbury inventing the differential in the UK. So I’ll just say that common Dana 44 gears will fit, and you can interchange with a long list of car, going back to the Thomas Flyer. The only caveat is that you’ll need to use a yoke in place of the flange because the spline pattern is different (27 vs 19 splines, IIRC.) The Chevy yoke is 2-4-8091X. If you want a more familiar flange, there was one made at one time, but I don’t have the number. You’ll also need sleeves or shoulder bolts on the ring, because the Dana ring bolts are slightly smaller than the holes in the carrier. Once you decide to go with Dana 44 gears, you’ll be able to find any ratio you want, although some of the more exotic ratios would require shimming the carrier. A Dana 3.07 set would drop right in. The difference in cost would pay for the installation…Example:

Dana 44 rear covers and gaskets fit, as well, but be sure to provision a vent.

Google “fitting Jaguar IRS with Dana 44 gears” there is a lengthy article I saw on a fellow that did this

This one…but there is lots of other “hits”

I think there’s a lot of good differentials sitting in the scrap yards. I got mine out of an xk6.

As of several years ago, the flange style prop shaft part with DANA splines was available from the folks at the link below.

I actually agree with this comment.

I have an IRS from a '71 XJ6 wreck

They came standard with a 3.07 open diff

Didnt the XJ come with track-loc though ?

Dunno if you can swap a track-loc carrier in

If you just need R&P gears, the XJ6 had Salisbury, not Dana in the 60s, as far as I know, up till the mids 80s
