New FOB on a 2002 x type 3.0 ,works like a charm

Just had my new FOB programed to the car with the old ket, works
wonders since I I had an old fob with the buttons not working at all.
This was done by a key and lock store and no charge.

Did you only have one working fob before? I have a spare key that I keep in a magnetic box under the car, in case I ever get locked out. You will have to have the key cut, and you will need an extra ‘chip’ for it (I ordered mine from England on ebay). If you have a working pair of keys, you can program the new chip easily.

That’s a very good idea, to have an extra key.

I will have my 2 extra keys cut, to have them.
