New heads and Blocks!

I would not have thought there would be a big enough demand to tool up for new heads and blocks !!

Slightly off marque but the Daimler and Lanchester spare parts club in the South Island of NZ are in the final processes of new castings for the 2.5 lt V8

I wonder how much?

Presumably CNC machining make the overall process cheaper

most of the 4.2 blocks I seen either are top cracked or have bad stud hole threads, (or worn bore)

never seen one good to go, so a stepped liners would be needed, which fix crack
not sure on stud hole repair.

I cannot remember what I was last quoted to machine block & insert stepped liners

many years ago, a club member purchased one of the last new Jag heads, was about $A2000

I noticed this a few days ago. they are not the only ones offering new items. . check out this company (Mark Davies Racing) . I also understand chessman engineering are looking new blocks also.
