Has anyone got an opinion on the ones sold by SC Parts/Limora or Welsh enterprises?
I bought new for my 150 FHC from Guy Broad. they work and are well made.
Aren’t all the window winding mechs from decades around that era, basically the same?
Some have the arm at a different angle [ 90 deg] But I’ve generally looked for old winder mechs from the rear doors on the basis they haven’t done as many winds. The arms can be shortened or extended etc. But these things from Mk VII’s / Vs etc are of little commercial value. { or price]
It’s usually the pinion that wears as it does umpteen more revolutions than the big sector.
This is exactly what was done to the regulators on later XK120 FHCs; the factory workers cut a piece out of the middle and welded the ends together.
