Nobody warned me about Jag bite!

In the Cobra community, within a week or so you will get out of your cobra and burn the living f@#! Out your calf. You just do this once, often leaves a scar. It’s called a snakebite.

I’ve been eyeing those exhaust tips on my jag suspiciously since I rehung it. Today I forgot , then I remembered!

Karl,
I think your tail pipes are too long. Which model do you have? On my Series 1 FHC, the pipes end quite a way under the car.
Someone will shortly pipe up with the correct answer.

Chris

Ouch… and you may add me, I had a Camero with a trailer hitch that got me a couple times. No cuts, but big bruises.

If I had a dime for every time I shed blood while working on my car I’d be rich. I even contributed part of a finger to the cause while working on the 2+2.

Series 2… not sure what is correct. No bumpers mounted either…

That is probably how you managed it. They are pretty well tucked in once the bumper is on:

I told my wife that if I ever go missing and the FBI needs a sample of my DNA - anything from the top 3 drawers of the tool chest should be good.

Hmmmmm. Looks like I might need an adjustment…

For what it’s worth I just measured. My tail pipes extend 4.5" beyond the stainless steel plinth. That is still a couple of inches short of the edge of the bumper.

Thanks John, mine are 5-3/4…

Measuring from the bottom of the plinth to the edge of the bumper my car measures 6-1/2". If that holds on yours your tail pipes shouldn’t protrude beyond the bumper.

Thanks John, that’s great. Not that big of deal to trim, but nice to not have to. Now if can just pay attention til my bumpers get here.

Slit a couple of old tennis balls. They’ll protect you, and probably just pop off if you start without remembering to remove them.

Ya’ got a point there, John. If I could have bottled all the blood I shed on PrtyKty, I would probably get one of those little pins they give to the five gallon donors. I even got a trip to the doctors office once when it looked like I cut an artery.

Good idea! I already gave them the blue tape treatment. Blowing them off the end of the tubes on startup may make it worth the trouble though!
