Someone in Washington State is selling not one, but five (5) SP250’s. Apparently someone had been collecting these cars since the 70’s and passed away. This Jalopnik article (routed via MSN) has the story, and a link to the Craigslist ad.
If someone wanted a LHD SP250, especially in North America, this might be the chance. All 5 for $65,000? Of course one would have to analyze the conditions of the cars, but they weren’t stored outdoors or in a barn as far as I can tell.
I followed the link to Jay Leno’s resto mod of the SP250 and was surprised to hear him say Solex for the carbs.
My brother had an SP250 in the 70-80’s and we cut off the manifold and mounted a Holley 4 barrel to it.
