OBDII-scanner-XJR 1995

Hi,

I would like to buy a cheap code reader for a XJR1995.:calling:

Does anybody knows if this one works?
TONWON OBD2 Scanner OBDII Bluetooth Scan Tool Car Fault Code Reader for Android

It has a blue tooth function and you can see your readings on your smartphone.

Would be a cool gadget to have!

Any advice?

Don’t like to buy a expensive one because it seems to be that the codes on a XJR1995 are very basic.

I do would like to read/clear the codes.

Thanks.
Tom.

While not familiar with that model, I have found that any wireless dongle with an “ELM27” spec works across many platforms and apps.

This one doesn’t seem to specify that.

The ones I have purchased, for an iPhone, needed to work on WiFi, not Bluetooth. Android phones can do both WiFi and Bluetooth.

I purchased and have been using a cheapie ELM27 reader for many years without any issues. You won’t be able to read ABS codes, but it will reset check engine lights, reveal standard “p” level trouble codes, as well as show you various bits of info necessary to troubleshoot issues with the car, such as coolant temp, O2 readings, and so on.

That being said, I would advise to make sure you get something that uses the ELM27 protocol.
