Oil Filter canister bolt

I need to know the thread of the 9/16 bolt that holds the oil filter cannister.
XK140 explored is saying 9/16 AF Hexagon.
I have messured 18 with a tool, but I do not know 18 ??? ( looks like 18 per 10mm )
Problem is a bought a spin on oil filter adapter, but is does not fit.
Bolt is 9/16 with 20 ???.
O what is it?

regards,
Peter Jan

The thread is 7/16-18 BSF.

Funny when we said the XK engine is all UNF and UNC, but we forgot about the add-on parts from outside suppliers like Tecalemit.

Hi Rob,
That picture is the early version, and 7/16 is smaller, I have the late version.
That uses one long bolt from below up, the thread is fixed in the housing.
That would probably be 9/16-18 BSF.

Not BSF.

If the diameter is 9/16" (14.3mm) and the thread pitch is 18 threads per inch (1.41mm) then the thread is 9/16-18 UNF.

Hello Rob,
9/16 seems to be the Bolt head, diameter is about 11mm, is that 7/16.
So you are right, it is 7/16-18 BSF.
Thanks,
Peter Jan

I had ordered a spin-on and had a similar issue. see attached photo. 7/16X18 is BSF and 7/16X20 is UNF. If the company won’t correct, one can be easily turned from hex stock. This was for a 57 140 with bolt from bottom of filter.
