Oil Pressure gauge wiring

Which terminal on the back of the gauge is grounded and which receives power from the sender? It’s from a 1974 Series 2 4.2. I was under the impression that the spade sizes made the difference on all the gauges?

It’s a heated bimetallic strip, so it doesn’t make any difference.

Unless one side is earthed internally, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen on a Jag.

Neither is grounded. One of the meter terminals is connected to the battery and the other is connected to the sender.

Thanks gents; took it loose without noting which way round the terminals went!

I love this age of smartphones…very useful remember!
Gosh, as kid in the 90s doing this stuff, notes on paper…who would have imagined!

Some of my Falcons have lists written on the underside of the hood or inside the glove box door keeping track of what I did to them… all of which are long gone from my possession.
