Just finished restoring the oil filter. How do I set the initial spring tension for the relief valve? Light or heavy at first? Then I will adjust to what target pressure? It’s a rebuilt engine and I want to make sure I get an accurate oil pressure reading at startup?
I would set it on the heavy side for initial start-up. If you set it too light some oil may get bypassed. You want all the oil going through the filter on a fresh engine. I don’t have the spec for PSI handy. I would make the final adjustment after you change the break-in oil and get a few hours of run time.
