Car looks in good shape, junk that motor and get another. The AJ6 is pretty much indestructible, you have a rare f’d up one. Junkyards hardly ever sell engines because they hardly ever go before the rest of the car.

I agree that the AJ6/AJ16 engines are “pretty much indestructible”.
Years ago when BPI (motorcars ltd.) in Houston TX was moving from one location to another I got calls and emails from them offering AJ/AJ16 engines for $600 each. I told them they would be hard to sell because they hardly ever fail.
They called back and emailed weeks later because they did not want to move all the used engines and would sell them CHEAP. I still did not need one but I thanked them anyway!!!
