How do I remove the excessive amount of paint buildup on the body tag? The PPG paint is so thick I can hardly read the numbers.
Paint stripper or heat and scrub
Let it soak in paint thinner for a day or so. It will probably fall right off.

then you can repaint it. 
Accidently spill some brake fluid on it; seems to strip stuff you don’t want it to!
