Paint code for 1964 Daimler sedan

Hello David. Welcome, there is a lot of help here! The approach to your question depends on your situation. If trying to match existing, I have found it best to go to a specialist with a sample - in my case the petrol flap and have paint made to match for age. If you’re doing the complete car then providing the paint code should be sufficient: see below.

Hello David,

Welcome to the Board!

You cited that you are looking for a paint code for Old English White…I may or may not be able to assist in your pursuit.

We recently repainted our 1963 MK2 that was originally finished in Cream (color corroborated by the Jaguar Heritage Trust). We desired to re-finish the car in its original livery and eventually settled on PPG 8894. We sprayed out several recommended paint codes (from web based resources and other Jaguar owners) and this particular code produced the best match to our preserved and relatively protected original paint samples (underside of the spare tire cover, inside the petrol filler lid, etc. I can’t tell you if Cream and Old English White are the same colors or color code. Someone else may be able to assist with this.

If you’re not re-painting the entire car, Paul’s recommendation of having paint blended to match your existing paint is a good way to go. PPG has a spectrophotometer device named the Prophet that is capable of scanning a paint sample and producing a formula based on PPG pigments that will get you between the foul lines. Additional hand tinting may be needed to dial it in but it’s a great start.

Good luck!

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your information. there seems some variation as paint codes for the same color. I think an eye match will be the way to go.
