Paint scheme under original paint

Going through some old pictures that the previous owner of my 62 FHC gave me. He had the car stripped and painted in 1990 and this unusual primer/paint job was under the original paint. Has anybody seen this livery before? Thanks in advance

The black paint is from the underbody dip that Jaguar gave to the bodyshells. The red and white colours are different coats of primer.

My car ('62 Coupe) had a similar pattern. This was all discussed here a few weeks ago.
