Panel removal tool kit

Happen to run across this. Looks like it may be a useful thing to have.

My dentist has a set of those!

For you or his Jag? lol

I’ve found these to be the best. (not this particular brand, but this particular tool). I got mine at Harbor Freight.

for removing door panels, exterior trim and bright work. The only addition I wrapped the prying end in gaffers tape to prevent any scratching. I do have a load of the plastic trim prying tools. I didn’t find them very useful on removing door panels or interior bits. very handy on external bright work. I still wrapped in gaffers tape. to prevent scratching.

The one thing to be keenly aware of is even though these are plastic prying tools, hese little plastic prying jewels, will (and have) leave dents as their party piece before breaking.

Avoidance tips,

  • spread the load at the fulcrum point with either another plastic tool or a piece of wood before prying.
  • If the trim piece doesn’t come off with a reasonable amount of pressure, then there’s something else holding it on. The door skins have hidden screws under the arm rest and junk carrier beneath. if memory serves.

For what ever that’s worth.
