The cold start injectors on my 79 XJ12 were dud and for A Bank the only affordable one I could find is from a Volvo, I think. Works fine but the fuel connection is at an angle that obstructs the MAP connection. As a temporary measure is there any reason I can’t just block the disconnected tube and manifold spigot and run the engine just from the MAP signal given by the B bank? The banks are connected by a large bore pipe, after all?
Wrong forum.
This is XJS and you need XJ 12.
Not the wrong forum for an engine-specific issue. It could be any or all of the XJ, XJ-S or V12 engine forums/fora, as all three cover this engine and injection system.
Generally this is the busiest of those options and cross-posting to more than one wastes bandwidth and time.
I doubt if you did that you would notice any difference.
Thanks Richard - that’s what I thought.
Anyone think otherwise?
Pete
I didn’t mean to chastise, only recommend.
No offense intended.
No offence taken, just an explanation givennn. Once upon a time when I admined the XJ list it was busy. Times change and I think this is the busiest now after E-Type and sometimes Pub.
