Pressure delay valve

Hi
I wonder if anybody ever had a leaky pressure delay valve , I have had this problem on 2 of my xjs’s and do not seem to understand how it would leak from the body itself , not from the connections.
there is a small orifice on the body which is covered with an oring, I do not think oring is supposed to seal it .
the car is a 94 xjs with tevas mark IV brakes.
any help is appreciated.

I don’t recognize that part. What year are your XJSs, and what system is it apart of?

1994 is Teves III (with an electric boost and accumulator)

The part is NLA - CBC4233 - no 4 in the diagram.
IIRC, we call it proportioning valve for the rear brakes.

Someone else also had similar woes (discussion on the “other” forum)

The thread DD mentioned with the alleged BMW mod is this one:

I am familiar with the part Steve , I call it the way jaguar called it , I am not looking for one as I have sourced a good used one , my question is , how does it leak and why ?
since internal parts can not be seen , it is hard to tell how it failed .

I looked at that thread , it cleared something for me , it looks like the vent hole is the source of the leak . internal parts must have failed to allow brake fluid go pass them.
