Probably should know this, but could someone tell me what the square tube in the frame body mount is for? I think it might be for a jack lift point, but have never used a stock jack, so not sure.

Yes, you are correct, it is to accommodate the car’s jack. There is usually a rubber plug or bung fitted in the forward end to keep out debris.
