I am preparing a 2003 X-type 3.0 manual as a
Chump car. I have been looking, unsuccessfully, for a
Brembo or Wilwood kit to upgrade the brakes. Has anybody
found a 4-piston kit to fit this car, or adapted something
else? I have found a Brembo kit for an S-type, but don’t
know if it will bolt up to an X-type. Are they the same?

Remember that if you can already lock all four wheels at
will (I.e. have the ABS kick in on a dry road surface)
there will be no braking retardation benefit from changing
calipers.
If you are going so much bigger or stickier on tyres that
you can’t lock the wheels any more, then fine. Or if you
want to change pedal feel or possibly pad wear, then those
would also be potential reasons to change calipers. But if
you just want to stop faster then calipers are not the
limiting step, your tire contact patch is.
