Does anyone have photos of 1963-68 ‘S’-type racing?
Thanks–

When you say ‘‘racing’’ do you mean some club/local event or
sanctioned racing such as saloon racing in the UK. The car of
choice for all serious saloon racers was the MK2 (think Peter
Lindner) but it is possible the ‘‘S’’ was used in rally to take
advantage of the IRS.–

Yes.
I am interested in photos of any b’S’-type that raced in a
‘sanctioned’ event - race or hillclimb.

The MkVII was raced extensively, as was the Mk1 (the factory
even offering stages of tuning for road or track before the
Coombs cars).–

Your comments re: MK VII and 2.4/3.4 (saloons) are correct but
that was largely due to the other cars against them. By the time
of he ‘‘S’’ others had caught up and the ‘‘S’’ suffered in this area
not due to the other makes but the MK2 from Jaguar. That said I
jusr reviewed my copy of the ‘‘Jaguar Journal 1955-2015’’ and there
are a few pics of ‘‘S’’ types in mild forms of events at the club
level.–

Thanks.
I didn’t expect any from the USA
But I know there have been a few raced in the UK, the most
famous being the ‘‘Blue Peter’’ car which raced into the 1990s,
or longer.–
