Is there any way to get around radio code other than dealer info

Your radio is probably toast…
Black is ground indeed, yellow and red are power.
You could open it and try to find the short, you may be lucky.
Hooked up speakers or not makes no difference.

thanks…opened it up and checked it out then before putting covers back on…checked continuity and no longer showed short…??? wonder if the screw covers were touching something…I will hook up speaker and ant. and bench test it when I get a chance…ah the mysteries of life (Jaguar life). haha
