My car has been sitting for about a year and a half while I complete some welding repairs etc.
Just spotted this small leak on the drivers side rear axle. I don’t suppose there is any chance that this will cure itself once I get back on the road and the axle is turning?
I already replaced the passenger side about 2 years ago and it was a bi&t*…

Funny enough I that same issue on a mk2 but after a grease injection and return to regular use it did disappear 
If the car is jacked up on one side for any length of time oil will run along the opposite side axle tube and sit on the oil seal which may cause it to leak. Once things are back on an even keel the leak will probably rectify itself.
Excellent! Maybe I will get lucky then. I have a mountain of other jobs to do to get back on the road so glad not to add this to the list.
