I need to do a drain and flush of the coolant on my 1999 XJ8 3.2 and run it clear to see if it changes color (I have another thread to explain why). I have looked around a bit and can’t find any information as to what coolant to use once I am ready to refill.
Any recommendations?

There should be a label next to the tank cap which says use orange coloured coolant. ONLY
If it says that purchase 5 year orange coolant.
The first MY for the Orange coolant was 2000 here in North America. The 1998/99 MYs used the Yellow colored coolant. I don’t know about the Rest Of the World (ROW).

you need to ensure its fully flushed if swapping colours, as mixing can cause crud buildup
