Reinstalling the Head

I gave the head studs two coats of rust proof paint before installation and installed them at 20 lbs. The head reinstallation is next but then following confuses me.

“…check the camshaft bearing tensions, it should be a mere 9 ft lbs. Some unknowing person might be little heavy handed on these” How do I do that?

And, should I use copper coat sealant around the entire head or just the area around the timing chains

some “unknowing” person may have written that, as the MKX FSM states 15ftlb for the camshaft bearing caps…but 9ftlb for the camshaft cover studs, which are known to crack the cover if overtight

the best way is using an inch pound torque wrench

Back off half a turn and retighten bolts, one at a time, Lou - using an appropriate torque wrench…

And head gaskets should have no sealant - my firm belief…
