I know what my spare E-Type distributor cost me… I can only imagine what a dizzy for a Ferrari 250 GT would set me back.
They used two six cylinder distributors, one driven from the back of each camshaft. The base and the shaft were the same as a Jag six, with the exception of the drive dog. I bought it because it was pretty cool looking, looked like the same form-factor as a Jaguar 6. The guy who was selling it on eBay didn’t know what it fit, one of those found in the garage of a deceased FIL deals.
I paid $50 for it. Once I figured out what it was, I listed it on eBay. Started the auction at $50, I think. A Santa Barbara Ferrari parts vendor bid it up to about $1,000.
Wait, wait, wait: you bought low and sold high?
Ive been doin’ it wrong.
Don’t worry, I have not made a habit of that.
