Hello again with Ruby, I hope to do the timing light adjustment on my sisters xj6 to help smooth out the idle. Unfortunately the timing label under the bonnet is partially scraped off from previous owners,so I need that info.I live in northern N.Y… Maybe the coil does not need replacing but I would like to see a new one on her car.Please give me a heads up on which brand I should go with. Truly, I cant say enough on how I appreciate the help you all have given me in the past. I bought and redid the front seats with the seat covers from Lseats.com.What an improvement,and what a challenge to get them on. Thanks again, Mark

It’s usually a combination of many factors, to be painstakingly pursued one by one - usually with incomplete success. Do a compression test to possibly eliminate one factor. I have forgotten Ruby’s data, but suggest you first check the ign timing you have now - it may be correct, and likely innocent anyway…
