I am facing a problem with gas emissions coming through the air
system.
I acquired a used Jaguar S-Type 4.0 2002 a couple of months ago
(with 50,000 km).
In reverse mode I can smell gas coming through the air system for a
few seconds.
On the road - and totally randomly (but on a daily basis) - I can
smell distinctively gas emissions coming through the air system.
I got the car for check up several times at Jaguar and they tell me
they do not know what is the problem and they cannot replicate the
problem.
This cannot be an isolated case.
Can someone help me?

On the road while driving clearly exhaust fumes.
In the reverse mode (when I start the car in the morning and get it
out of the garage) the smell is a mix of petrol and exhaust fumes.–
