[s-type] Light in overhead console?

Should there be a light in the overhead console (interior light
switch, sunroof switch and PDC switch)? The car is a 1999 S-Type V8.

Do you mean a reading light or an indicator light? On my 2004 car
there’s a red LED that comes on when the auto headlights switch on.–
