[s-type] Poor am fm reception

The am radio reception, most notably, on my '05 S type R is
very poor. Very much as experienced on other vehicles when
the antennae is disconnected. FM, even without antenna, is
usually strong enough signal to come through. Where should
I look for connection problems?

Previous owner accessed the center dash panel to install a
hot lead for an I phone charger cord. Possible he
disconnected the lead at the radio head??

Love my R, a fairly rare cat in my area…seen only one
other locally. Anyone else out there?

Probably the antenna cable is disconnected behind the radio.
As I recall, taking the radio out was not all that hard.
There are two wood grain cover pieces on the sides shaped
like half a rain drop, and one on the bottom. You pop those
out gently with a knife and then there are some screws to
remove and the radio slides out. You then disconnect some
connectors.–
