[s-type] REAR SHOCKS

Hi,
Has anyone had to change the shocks on their car yet,are there any
other brands that you could recommend,or are the jag shocks the
best,they are a bit pricey at 280 euro each as quoted by jaguar
ireland.The original shocks have 105000 miles on them,so I guess I
can’t complain too much,the year is 1999,they seem fine to me,but
the garage have told me there is a leak on one of the rear
shocks,plus a slight bit of wear on the rear top arms,i would be
grateful for any info you could
provide.

hi
Sorry I cant help with advise on which make shock to get.
Jaguar wont make shocks themselves so the jag ones will be
made by a 3rd party. what I can say is that at that mileage
the shocks will be well down on performance. The degredation
happens so slowly over the years that you do not notice
anything is wrong until you replace them then you will see
how bad they had got. If the rear shocks are shot the
fronts will not be far away.
