[s-type] Water in trunk

When I took my S-type in to the dealer for the batter failure
problem, they couldn’t find the reason, and said to bring it back
if I get anymore ideas or questions. After I washed my car a few
days ago, the car died again. While doing some investigation, I
noticed water in the battery area. I never thought that the plastic
valance panel along with a rubber piece that have fallen off near
the boot latch could be the problem. Do you guys think this could
be allowing water to leak in to the trunk area?–

Have you had the seal replaced yet?

I was told that the main reason for water getting into the boot was
either the seal around the boot perishing or sometimes water got in
from around the rear light clusters.
The Jaguar chap also advised that I left the rubber bung out of the
spare wheel well so that any surplus water could drain.
Hope this helps.–
