[s-type] What 18" wheels do I but?

Hi,

I’m planning to install a set of 18’’ wheels on my S-Type V6
1999.

After researching I think the correct size is 18x8 with
245/40. I’ll probably put Pilot Sport 2.

The problem is, what manufacturers have wheels that fit on
my car? I would like a while the style of the Mille Miglia
F20 which is somehow similar to the Daytona Jag one on the
R-Type, but on the Mille Miglia website doesn’t appear as
available for the S-Type. Do you think I can fit this one?

According to www.bigwheels.net

These are the characteristics for s-type 1999 wheels
Bolt Pattern: 5x108 (5x4.25)
Offset Range: 40 to 45
Wheel Size Range: 16x7.0 to 20x9.0
OEM Tire Size (Front): 225/55-16 (225x654 mm)
Max Tire Dimensions: 245x674.0

I found one that is similar to what I’m looking for
http://www.bigwheels.net/?location=wheels&action=view_model&model=QT%20S12&bold_id=95435
but it says that will only fit with a 18x7.5 or a 19x8…

19x8 5x120 45 Silver Fits Vehicle $385 Each
18x7.5 5x4.25 45 Hyper Silver Fits Vehicle $262 Each

So all very confusing and complicated!!!

I know that some of you have done this upgrade… How have
you done it? What brands? where you bought it?

Many thanks for your help!–

Ah!

Apparently I could fit also the OZ Classe PL
18x8 5x108 40 Silver Fits Vehicle $359 Each

or

18x9 5x108 40 Silver Fits Vehicle $359 Each

I don’t understand why some times I can fit 18x8, some times
not and then some times 18x8 and 18x9…–

the width of your rims that your car is capable of running
sometimes depends on your the offset. that’s why some 8’’ wide
wheels will work while some 9’’ won’t. Also what matters is the tire
size you will be running so it won’t rub.–
