Just got my S Type on Saturday as it’s a 99 model it only seems to have a
Cassette player fitted. Anybody know if you can fit a normal stereo in the
dash as I have a Sony MP3 player with a standard fitting or am I going to
have to get a multi changer for it.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi there,

Buy yourself a copy of Jaguar World Magazine. There are several Jag
breakers in the back of the mag that will have the standard cd
systems for sale at a fraction of the original cost. When you get
on if you need any information from the manual give me an email and
I’ll try to help.

Best regards,

My 99 s-type only came with a cassette player, however I fitted an
Alpine disk changer in the boot and an adaptor wich I purchased
from the audio shop opposite me. I fitted the unit in half an hour,
running the single lead under the kick panels, located the adaptor
behind the glove box and just plugged the adaptor in the back of
the head unit. Sounds great, still looks good too, and I didn’t
drill a single hole as the cd unit sits in the spare wheel void.
All in all it cost me 200. Alternatively if you log onto
www.purrjag.co.uk I beleive they do the glove box CD for the same
price.–

Anyone on the list lost their air conditioning? Was driving on the highway yesterday and all
was fine for a long time (over 100 miles) then the vent air became warm and finally went to
outside temps. In Arizona in August that was over 100 and not a lot of fun for the remaining
50 miles going home. At least the car got me home…

Opened the hood when I got home and something on the front of the engine (assume the
compressor) was making “not normal” noises so am assuming that the compressor has
gone South.

Anyone ever have this happen? If it was a XJ I know that the compressor is a off the shelf
GM model but bet that this one is not. Am not looking forwards to seeing the repair bill on
this situation.

Would appreciate any advise or previous history on this system.

Thx,

Joe A
