My passenger side door latches nicely. No amount of pulling, shaking etc can make it come unlatched. But reliably, every time I drive it, I immediately hear a rattle and it’s the door unlatched. Ray and I looked at it at a show recently, and his opinion is that something in the mechanism under the door card is shaking loose. Before I tear it all apart, has anyone else had this experience? I had a rear hatch on a car that did that. The below worked for me.
I think of the latch as having two positions, half latched and fully latched. Sounds like your door isn’t fully latching. You might try fractionally moving the adjustable part of the latch toward the skin of the car. Not much maybe a 32nd of an inch and see if that makes a difference.
Today on the Dawn Patrol the drive door opened twice. More embarrassing than dangerous. I’m also looking for help.
The few times I’ve experienced that issue, the fractional adjustment cured it.
