Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable company that can strip and rebuild my V8 250 axle as I know it needs work. Failing that an exchange option may be considered. I just don’t want to risk the expense and find the axle is no better. Several companies come up on Google but who are the reliable ones?
I had to get my axle sorted last year. Eventually I decided to do the job myself. It was a tedious process but all worked out fine in the end with a parts cost of about £250, which consisted of oil seals and bearings.

Some special tools are needed but easily made.

When I enquired of this firm they only wanted the diff so I would have to have garage remove axle / hubs etc. In the end I just changed the oil!
I decided to do a lot of the work myself but to keep it sensible things which require some specialist knowledge and tools I think should be paid for otherwise it will take forever and I do not over estimate my abilities.
Researching further it seems possible to use the Powerlok Jaguar 3.8 axle which is on my donor car as the ratio will make the V8 auto work harder in low gear but will be better once up to speed? I seems to be in better shape than my Daimler unit. Still debating that one. Either way the axle will need to be checked and possibly repaired by an expert.
