[Saloon-lovers] 1967 420 front turn signal chrome surround. Howto mount it?

In reply to a message from Chris Burdo sent Sat 15 Nov 2008:

I also think they are the same as in the S type, and so are the
Parking Lamps and the outer Headlamps and chromed rings.

Member Clark, having one of each model, could confirm this.

Shop manual vague? I'm shocked to hear this Peter. ;-) Assuming that the 420 has the same arrangement as the S-type your turn signals should also have two small brackets as well as the turn signals. When the turn signal is offered up to the car the brackets are placed over the studs on the inside of wheelwell. Once the nuts are tightened down on the studs it traps the brackets against the inside of the wing which will hold the turn signals in place. Both brackets should be a ''U' shape with the legs of the ''U'' being shorter than the length of the base of the ''U''. Congratulations on getting your 420 registered as well...

to keep the holder and the car together? Anybody got the answer?

Zurdo is correct regarding the 420 being the same as the S-Type turn signal
assembly. It IS held on by brackets aganst the body. . The headlamp
embellishers are not however, the same on the 420 as the S-Type. The S has
deeper “eyelids”
