[Saloon-lovers] 2.4 idle

To Nick,
Your 2.4 probably has the twin Solex carbs. They could just be in bad shape (jets, etc.) and not able to adjust mixture etc. because of wear.
Per other lister, go right to back to square one with plugs, distrib., fuel filter? then adjusting idle and mixture.
The only thing I have found over the years is that when it is right, it will stay that way almost indefinitely.

i would check the compression.The rough idle could be the sign of a bad
valve
