[Saloon-lovers] 420 Rear Shocks

Quick question; Are the 420 rear shocks interchangeable with the
early XJ6? I’m dropping the IRS soon to do the rear discs, and
thought I’d install a set of new shocks at the same time. Bilstein
are listed for the XJ6 69-on (BE3-2446-H0) but not the early cars.

Saul,
The quick answer is no. I don’t have a Bilstein chart, but all the
references I have for Koni, Spax, Monroe and Woodhead show a different
number for the XJ6 and the 420. What the difference is – I can’t tell you.
