[Saloon-lovers] 420G leather seats & liquid leather clean/conditioner

Hello

I have a query on the use of the liquid leather cleaner and
conditioner product. I wonder if I am being too vigorous?
I am using the cleaner carefully, as directed on the bottle (not
scrubbing) and then wiping off with a damp cloth and re-applying if
necessary.
I don’t seem to be able to get rid of all the dirt OR am I actually
taking off the leather colour itself?!!
The seats are grey perforated leather - connolly leather?
When I apply the conditioner, the cloth goes grey as I work it into
the leather.
I think the seats are as old as the car so is this what happens to
old leather? Will try and upload pics to my album to show this.
Thanks. Mark.–

I applied a very large amount of neat’s foot oil to my leather
seats and they just drank the stuff up. Wipe on, soak in, wipe on,
soak in, over and over. I took the seat bottoms out ofthe car and
worked in the yard. 40 year old leather is real dry, especially in
Nevada, I don’t know where you are.
My leather is much improved. I did not have any color come off. I
doubt you have grey (gray?) dirt on your leather, that must be your
coloring coming off and I would think you would want to leave it on
your seats.

I have the original leather in my car too. Was hard and cracked and
faded

I bought a renovation kit from Woolies.

Fab stuff. Came with connolly hide food + cleaner + dye + sealer.

One of the few jobs that I ever did that made me thing my car
was ‘better’ rather than just ‘fixed’ when I had finished.

Won’t cure totally hard leather but definitely feels better and
looks a lot better…

Cheers
