[Saloon-lovers] 420G/MK-X suspension questions

A couple of quick questions for you big saloon owners:

I’m curious about the dimensions of the front suspension sub-assembly on
these cars. What I’d like to know is:
a) Distance from hub-face to hub-face (essentially the track width)
b) Distance between the inside of the two towers; basically
I’d like to know how wide the “U” around the engine bay is.
Anybody got their suspension out, and a tape-measure handy?

If anybody happens to know the numbers for an XJ6, I’d like to
know the same measurements for that assembly too.

Did all these cars come equipped with power steering? Brakes are
solid rotor, dunlops… right?

You probably don’t want to know why I’m curious…

Ryan.

The next meeting of the British Motoring Club is tomorrow night at
Sportscasters next to Best Buy on S. College. If the snow is
half-way melted, I’ll drive the Mk2 there.

What sort of monster are you thinking of building?

6:30 dinner
7:30 meeting

I’m announcing a new service tomorrow night, a club library. There
are already about 12-15 Jag items in the library including some early
Mk2 factory manuals and some out-of-print Mk1 and Mk2 books.
