Dear saloon lovers,
What an amazing source of information in the Jag-lovers site! I hope this
newsgroup will be as rewarding to a first time sender…
I am just begining restoration of a c.1958 Mk 1 Jag, and want to replace
the boot (UK) / trunk (US) mat.
I know the correct material to use is Hardura, but does anyone know the
right colour (UK!) color (US!)? In Nigel Thorleys excellent book (The
Complete Companion) he makes one reference to grey being the colour
that was introduced in 1955. The horrible old mat in my car is grey, so if it
is original then it agrees with Thorleys comment.
However, it is possible that they may have added other colours to the
range - does anyone know? Only grey, or grey and black and …? Black
seems to be the colour most available nowadays.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Murray Dawson

They are a very good Jaguar Trimmers and supply interior trim to all models,
I believe.

Grey was I believe correct then, Black in the 60s, but trimmers say
nowadays that often hardura for boot mats is asked for in interior trim
colour. I was offered biscuit for mine, yuk. I chose black.

I used Aldridge for all my trim, very happy with them. There are colour
and interior colour details on their web pages.

Even replaced a wrong carpet mat after about two years (by the time I got
round to fitting it)
